Xenith7 Scales

The Xenith7 captures what I refer to as the first golden era of handpans - classic 7 note scales in D. Simplicity at its finest; allowing the player to get lost in the wonder of handpans with out having to think. They give the user the best shot at slipping into a handpan flow state, traversing both time and space.

Sweet/Major

Ysha: D/ A C# D E F# G A
Mixo: D/ A B D E F# G A

Major scales lend themselves to a more uplifting sound than minor scales. Sweet but not too sweet, like a white peach on a summer’s day.

Savory/Minor

Celtic: D/ A C D E F G A
Insen: D/ A Bb D E F G A

Minor scales are what people think of when they hear handpan music. Moody and melancholy, minor scales are a perfect fit to bring out the best in these instruments.

Spicy/Harmonic Minor:

Orion: D/ A C D Eb F# G A
Hijaz: D/ A Bb D Eb F# G A

Harmonic Minor scales are bold and defined. Distinct in flavor they are powerful and unwavering.

Ask Colin about it.

What Happens After I Pre-Order?
When you place a pre-order you will get an estimated wait time. The clock on that wait time starts when your order is placed. As production progresses, you will receive broad updates like what I am working on this week, what percent of the batch is complete, where in the Pacific Ocean the boat is that is carrying my handpan bags, etc. When it is time for me to start your Xenith you will receive a personal message with an estimate of when your Xenith will be ready to ship. Then you will get notified of shipment and receive the relevant tracking information.

If you are curious what those updates look like you can check out the 2021 Summer Production Run.

What Xenith Owners Are Saying

"Playing the Xenith felt like sitting down with a familiar friend. The notes are clear and clean...the resonance is goosebumbingly beautiful. Easy to pull sound from quiet to loud. Melodies flow with ease inviting hours of exploration. High quality and beautiful finishes."

- Judith Lerner, CFoulke and 2020 Æther Owner

We received your Xenith handpan yesterday and my husband has not stopped playing it! It’s so beautiful with the most ethereal sound! Thank you for your craftsmanship and talent! You are amazing! Thank you! Thank you! It’s an incredible instrument and art piece.

- Ping, Xenith Customer

“Dear Mr, Foulke, your latest achievement just arrived and ...I’m pretty much speechless!  Pure Singing steel! Flawless Magic! ……it’s unreal!”

- Jeff, RADIX and Xenith Owner

"There is so much to love about this Celtic Xenith that you made for me. The touch is effortless, the notes seem like they are on springs waiting to jump out! There are so many different sounds available, metallic clanks and slaps, taks, and each note has shadings that come from being touched differently, in different ways and parts of the tone fields. It has such a strong voice, it's loud when I want it to be loud. Of course it plays beautifully soft as well. The ding is wonderfully rich~if you hit it hard, it just BOOMS! It has several different voices, depending on how you hit it. It bends notes beautifully and it loves soft touches as well. And the price, pretty low anyway, in comparison to anywhere else, but for a handpan of this quality, an absolutely excellent value. It's small, light, convenient, and still, such an extraordinary sound."
