Master The Handpan Marketplace!
I had a call with David Charrier in the Spring of 2020 and he floated the idea of Master The Handpan (his online handpan teaching platform) launching a market place where they would promote and sell handpans to their students. In this call David and I realized that we were both dealing with the same frustration—low quality, high priced instruments. His frustration was that his students would sign up for his lessons only to then realize the instrument they bought didn’t sound like the ones he was teaching with. My frustration was that I was getting more and more retune requests for instruments that didn’t need a retune, but an overhaul, and some that were beyond fixable.
At the time, I was in the early stages of developing the Xenith with the goal of creating a high quality, low priced instrument in an attempt to rectify this issue. On our call we realized that my goals for the Xenith dovetailed with David’s hopes for his students. A future partnership was imminent! We stayed in touch as the Xenith7 came to fruition. By the time the Xenith8 was ready, so was the marketplace!
I am grateful that Master The Handpan put their trust in the Xenith and I am immensely proud of our partnership.
